St Minver 1st XI vs. Ladock – 26 May 2014

Result: St Minver won by 186 runs.

Another solid performance meant St Minver managed another win this week, gaining 20 points against newly promoted Ladock. After being put in to bat, St Minver made a massive 331-4 off of their 48 overs before bowling Ladock out for 145.

A solid opening partnership between Ben Hawken and Luke Marshall (24 and 39) got St Minver off to a good start before number 3 Warwick Abrahim managed 79 to joint top score with wides. A quick 43 from Ryan Pooley and another solid unbeaten score from Rob Hawken (47*) provided a good finish to the innings pushing on to 331 having secured maximum batting points early on.

In the second innings, Luke Osborne took his opportunity to open the bowling well, getting a wicket and keeping the runs down. At the other end, Dennis Brown again bowled well as was reflected in his figures of 8 overs at 4-20. Despite taking 2 early wickets, St Minver were frustrated for around 25 overs following a steady Ladock partnership. However once broken by a second slip catch of the season for Craig Allen, this time off Rob Hawken’s bowling, St Minver quickly bowled out the remaining batsmen, 3 of them bowled by Warwick Abrahim.

Man of the Match: Warwick Abrahim/Extras.
